John MacDonald erected the fence between my property and my neighbour’s house. He was meticulous in the way he constructed the fence and the result was excellent. He did a really good job and cleaned up any mess made during the construction. He has also removed a juniper bush from my rockery that had been causing a problem owing to its size and deep roots – another good job well done. Personable, efficient, strong and well skilled with his hands. A trustworthy and reliable artisan. I recommend him as a valued handyman.

We needed a wooden bed frame shortened to allow space to walk round the end of the bed. John came round to look at the job soon after we contacted him. He listened carefully to what we wanted and we had a constructive discussion as to how much would be the ideal amount to remove. He took the side pieces of the bed away with him and returned them the next day, having done a great job: all the holes and slots for fixing the bed frame had been replaced perfectly in the shortened side pieces. Once reassembled, the bed was as sturdy as ever, the mattress fitted snugly in the frame, and there was space to manoeuvre around the room. I'm sure this was a relatively straightforward job for John but he was both efficient and obliging. He has a calm, professional manner (we were very happy to have him in our house) and is clearly very good at what he does. We will happily recommend him to anyone we know.

John removed an overgrown leylandii hedge, built a boundary fence, and put up an ornamental archway. All jobs were carried out efficiently, professionally and to my complete satisfaction; and I would fully recommend him.

John completed a variety of jobs to a very high standard. This included building shelves, altering a door, fixing broken furniture and hanging a picture. Being an engineer, he can turn his hand to anything. He is calm and competent and works tirelessly and meticulously on every task no matter how small. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others. I also have other larger projects lined up for him.
